Retargeting is the Most Persistent Salesman in the World
Every good salesman knows that you need to date before you close the deal. Only 2% of sales occur when two parties meet for the first time, yet many sales people give up after few meetings – retargeting doesn’t.
Retargeting (also know as behavioural remarketing) is a form of targeted online advertising where the advertising targets customers based on their previous internet actions, such as visiting your website.
By visiting your website, a person shows interest in your products and services, but generally 98% of website visitors don’t convert into customers in the first visit. Retargeting keeps your brand infront of them until one day they are ready to buy, and it brings the right people back to your site, growing business by doing so.
How does retargeting work? With retargeting solutions, you can mark all users who visit your website by adding a little tag into their browser, which later allows it to show them Facebook and Google Display Network banner ads.
Persistence will give you a massive edge on competitors. There is nothing more efficient in sales and marketing than persistence. Yet, with most sales, people don’t follow up, and most websites don’t do retargeting – although they should, as it increases results greatly. It takes at least five persistent follow up efforts, after the initial sales contact, before a customer says yes – same with marketing, you need to show your value, and offer to people multiple times, before they convert into sales.
